| CONVERSATION WITH MICHEL & ROSA TYABJI For the past five years the best recording studio in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, has been Makuti Studio. The acoustics sound natural, the equipment is up to the task, and musicians work there with confidence that their art is respected and their rights are protected. Much good music has been made there, including many recordings for the Tanzanian National Arts Council's archive of traditional music. Michel and Rosa Tyabji producers and founders of Limitless Sky Records are instrumental in the revival of Tanzania traditional and popular dance music. The music of Tanzania has been absent in the international music market for two decades Limitless Sky Records was established to release and promote the music of this east African country. At Echoes Of Africa we were honored to have these two producers as guests on the show. |
